Jamey Aebersold is one of the pioneer in jazz education, first of all through his play a long series. He has more than 100 volumes in his series, where you can play with top jazz musicians. I have picked a few titles that cover basic jazz playing, and some made for guitar players. Then I have included a link to the complete list at Amazon.com. Play Guitar With .... is a play-a-long (or sing-a-long) series. You get a book with exact transcriptions in tab and standard notation, and a CD with all the songs recorded in two versions: One full track, and on "music minus guitar" track, where you can play along. Jam with is a series by Total Accuracy. Each volume is a book/CD package, usually a book with one CD (but some have two CDs). You get one full backing track, and one music-minus-guitar backing track for you to play with. The guitar part's are transcribed in the book. They are generally of high quality. As with other European series, not all volumes are distributed in US. But Music Room ship worldwide.

Play Acoustic Guitar With ... is the acoustic sister series to the Play Guitar With .... series. You get a book with transcriptions, and a CD with all the songs in two versions: One full version (but without vocal), and one music-minus-guitar version backing track to play with. You can use the full version as backing track for singing.

Jam Trax is a series of backing track CDs, with a leaflet that gives you the chord progressions, indicates scales, etc. Each volume cover a style, and not a specific artist. They are good for practicing if you want to improvise and not just learn the style of some guitarist.
