Rising Sun - Narada Michael Walden (Artist)
Narada Michael Walden's new release "Thunder" is a genius work of art. Narada's tremendous talent shines brightly on this new cd as a producer, writer, drummer and singer. You can feel the love that went into this project. Every track is uniquely and beautifully crafted. My favorite tracks are Dragonfly, 40 Days, Throw Your Hands Up and We Belong Together. With that said, I love every song! The beauty of this cd for me is that it makes me feel uplifted, hopeful, nostalgic and alive! You will definitely be keeping this cd in rotation for a long time. Once again Narada shows us that he is a force to be reckoned with!
On 2013 EP Rising Sun, Grammy and Emmy- winning producer, songwriter and world class drummer, Narada Michael Walden revisits four of his early fusion hits with his powerful new band made up of some of the Bay Area's finest musicians - Frank Martin (keyboards), Angeline Saris (bass), Matthew Charles Heulitt (guitar), and Nikita Germaine (vocals). The band brings powerful new energy to these songs, including 'Cosmic Strut' which Narada wrote and first recorded with the acclaimed Mahavishnu Orchestra and 'Sofie' which he originally wrote and produced for Jeff Beck's Wired album.
Ecstasy's Dance: The Best Of Narada Michael Walden
16 tracks from the multitalented Narada Michael Walden, who as a producer had a hand in the success of everybody from Aretha Franklin to Whitney Houston while scoring more than a dozen R&B chart hits on his own! Includes I Don't Want Nobody Else (to Dance with You); I Shoulda Loved Ya; Gimme, Gimme, Gimme; Divine Emotions; Tonight I'm Alright , and more, with notes.
This album is only an introduction to Narada Michael Walden's music. Apparently, he made the selection himself, and picked one or two tracks from each album. This is what you have to buy since the rest of his work will probably never be released on cd. And he will probably not release anything new, because he has been producing in the past fifteen years, with great success. Did you know that "I love your smile" is his, and that he discovered Shanice ? Did you know he's produced Aretha Franklin's "A rose is still a rose"?, Stevie Winwood's "Junction seven"?,
Curtis Mayfield's "New world order", Patti Austin's self titled BEST album, Jarreau's "Heaven and earth",or that he played all percussion, tambourine, drums, on "Phoenix Rising" ?. Did you know he's produced "License to Kill" and "9 and 1/2 weeks" soundtracks?
