Lord of
The Rings Lyrics
Anduin Leads Down to the Sea
To the Sea, to the Sea! The white gulls are crying,
The wind is blowing, and the white foam is flying,
West, west away, the round sun is falling,
Grey ship, grey ship, do you hear them calling,
The voices of my people that have gone before me?
I will leave. I will leave the woods that bore me;
For our days are ending and our years failing.
I will pass the wide waters lonely sailing.
Long are the waves on the Last Shore falling,
Sweet are the voices on the Lost Isle calling,
In Eressea, in Elvenhome that no man can discover,
Where the leaves fall not; land of my people forever!
Resting by a Tree
Ho! Ho! Ho! to the bottle I go
To heal my heart and drown my woe.
Rain may fall and wind may blow,
And many miles be still to go,
But under a tall tree I will lie,
And let the clouds go sailing by.
The Funeral of Theoden
Men of the Mark prepared the funeral of Theoden, and he was laid in a
house of stone with his arms...and over him was raised a great mound,
covered with green turves of grass and of white evermind. And now there
were eight mounds on the east-side of the Barrowfield. The Riders upon
white horses... sang a song that Gleowine (Theoden's minstrel) made; and
he made no song after.
"Out of doubt, out of dark, to the day's rising
he rode singing in the sun, sword unsheathing.
Hope he rekindled, and in hope ended;
over death, over dread, over doom lifted
out of loss, out of life, unto long glory."
But Merry stood at the foot of the green mound, and he wept.
"Theoden King, Theoden King! Farewell! As a father you were to me,
for a little while. Farewell!"
Ride to Gondor!
Arise,arise, Riders of Theoden!
Fell deeds awake: fire and slaughter!
spear shall be shaken, shield be splintered,
a sword-day, a red day, ere the sun rises!
Ride now, ride now! Ride to Gondor!
Anduin Leads Down to the Sea

Song of Elbereth
Snow-white! Snow-white! O Lady clear!
O Queen beyond the Western Seas!
O Light to us that wander here
Amid the world of woven trees!
Gilthoniel! O Elbereth!
Clear are thy eyes and bright thy breath!
Snow-white! Snow-white! We sing to thee
In a far land beyond the Sea.
O stars that in the Sunless Year
With shining hands by her were sown,
In windy fields now bright and clear
We see your silver blossom blown!
O Elbereth! Gilthoniel!
We still remember, we who dwell
In this far land beneath the trees,
Thy starlight on the Western Seas.
